Di,
How does your water look? I think you had another post on here somewhere but I can;t remember....were you working on a problem?
Ok after advice given, bleach + CYA added, test results this morning:-
9.30am
Chl - 1.0
Ph - 7.2
Alk - 120
TH - 1000
CYA - 60
now the TH test doesn't turn a real blue from red so not 100% sure I'm doing that test correctly. Pool water is clear We need to get a calcium only test but struggling to find one locally.
Any advice on these test results?
cheers

this was my initial thread
http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/showthread.php?t=2793
mostly lack of cl and no cya (doh!)
got a cya test though now
water is clear
do I need to up the cl (re: bens chart for cya/cl)? I think I understand that correctly that the cl needs to be higher?

Di,
Yep, I'd keep the Cl in the range of 5-10ppm based on your CYA level.
My pool is similar....I lose about 2.5ppm daily so you'll have to check it often at first.
First chance you get, invest in Ben's test kit...it has saved me over and over.
Thanks Dave!
I figured I was correct, just double checking y'know!
Just put in some bleach according to the calc so will post tonights results later
Wow you lose 2.5ppm a day? isn't that alot?
I know our pool is in full sun for 13 hours a day! And the temps are rising!

Based on what I read on the forum, I think 2.5ppm daily loss is on the high side of normal.
