Hi, It sounds like you are doing it correctly. Most of the time there is a little flange on the back side of the bead and you can feel a little snap when it is in place. Not always though. It is a finger breaking experience to make sure that bead is all the way in the track all the way around.
It is the pressure of the water that holds it in place. A snug fitting liner will put a little down pressure on the bead and hold it firmly in place. It's the loose fitting liners that cause the most problems.
