Default Extending pump motor bond wire

I'm replacing my pump and I've found that the bond wire lug connection is at the back of the motor on the new pump. On the old pump it was at the front of the motor. Unfortunately the bond wire is about 6 inches too short to reach the bond lug on the new motor. Is it safe to extend the bond wire by coupling another piece of 6 awg copper to it? I'm not sure what other options I would have. Thanks. -Steve

Thumbs up Re: Extending pool motor bond wire

It turns out I was able to reroute the bond wire and reach the lug on the motor after all. But I'm still curious if the bond can be extended with a coupling of some sort.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Yes, you could extend it as long as you used a code approved coupling method.
