    Default Polyquat

I added 32 oz. of polyquat on Thursday night. Pool is still losing a lot of chlorine. Question: Should I add copious amounts of bleach (which I have been doing) or wait another day and then get pool up to shock level? I left today at 3:30 and the pool was at 14 ppm, returned home 8:45 and chlorine was back down to 6ppm. I just added another gallon of 12% which should take it back up to 14ppm. Do you know how many days it will take the polyquat to stop using chlorine? CYA is 45-50.

One thing you must realize is that when you add that much polyquat, your chlorine level will drop like a stone over the following 48 hours.

If your chlorine is STILL dropping after 48 hours, it's not the polyquat--you are still fighting something.
