Yeah, it sounds like you are over-pressuring, and then collapsing them. The explanation is one most people find complicated so I'll hold off till I can confirm. And, to do so, I need to know what PUMP (not motor) and filter models you have on your pool.

Just as an FYI, If I'm right, you'll need to plumb in a filter bypass, or else a valve you can use to restrict flow.
