Default Once pump is on, Kreepy Krauly won't move without a quick tug

Our Kreepy Krauly works great. However, once the auto pump turns on, the Kreepy won't move w/o us giving a quick tug on the hose...then it starts moving. This happens daily with defeats the purpose of our timers.

    Any suggestions? Thanks.

check the bearings in the little wheels that make the legs move. I know it's bad juju to mention pool stores but the kid at my area Leslie's is a genius with pool cleaners and there is no labor charge.

It's not bad juju, at least with me.

I have ALWAYS encouraged people to avoid burning bridges with their pool store, and have reminded them that they were going to need parts and some chemicals from them.

Pool stores are not all bad at everything. It's just that they are almost all bad at pool chemistry!

I try to keep people out of pool stores, when they are trying to solve chemical or algae problems, because stores tend to sell them stuff that costs $$ and makes the problems worse. But equipment and parts are a very different matter.

Thanks for the advice. There aren't any wheels on a Kreepy so I'm still trying to figure this one out.

A year later, Kreepy is doing the same thing. We backwash normally and have replaced the flapper valve and starfish seal, still no progress. Every morning we go out and give it a tug after the pump has turned on...its quite annoying but I guess we'll have to deal with it until we decide to repurpose our pump for a Polaris.
