    Default Hayward Super Pump Leak

After day two of opening the pump house I noticed excess water on the floor only to find water spraying from my Hayward Super Pump, we just bought the house in the fall, came with an inground pool and I don't know anything about pools, so this is all new to me. I have a photo but can't attach, it's leaking from the spot where the Motor house attaches to the trap basket.

Please tell me I only need to reseal/ replace a gasket or something.

    Cheers
    CB

It might be the motor seal, through usually that doesn't spray.

A picture would get you much higher quality responses. If you can make some, email them to poolforum.pics AT gmail DOT com

    Welcome to the Forum!

Try tightening the 4 bolts that secure the 2 parts of the housing (9/ 16" wrench will fit them).

If that doesn't solve the problem, pick up a SPX1600-Z-1 seal assembly and a SPX1600T pump housing gasket. I know I have a post describing how to change the seal assembly and the housing gasket is pretty obvious but feel free to ask any questions you have.
