intelliflo and pool vac

Hi all, I recently replaced my 30 year old system with a raypack 407, a pentair 4060 and intelliflo vf. Saving energy and all but the old hayward pool vac gets stuck occasionally. Any thoughts on other types of pool vacs that can't get stuck or do I just need to up the power on the pump a bit more. I am trying to find that great balance of low power consumption and warm clean pool.
