    Default Filter Connection Hose

I am looking for alternatives to the plastic filter connection hoses for my above ground pool.

I like being able to simply connect the return to the skimmer to keep the water in the pool during filter cleaning.

    So what are my options?

If what you are saying is what I think you are saying, the easiest thing to do is put plugs in the return and skimmer while opening the filter, which I'm guessing is a Cartridge or DE. Standard expanding rubber plugs are available at almost every pool store and look like high school chem class rubber stoppers, only wider with a butterfly nut in the middle.

Or you could plumb in ball valves just before the return and just after the skimmer and use them to shut off the water. I have ball valves at my pump's entry, and I can put a screw-in stopper in my return (the same one I use in winter). I do this to clean the pump's skimmer basket. Or I can just shut the ball valve at the pump and put the Multivalve to "Closed".
