Opps! I ment Intex, sorry about that.
I'm running that intex 4000gph on my 18' intex and I love it (they aren't making it anymore though, so you might have to look around for a good deal.) Also, I'm not sure if the 24' comes with a skimmer, but if not I would get one of those too (makes life much easier.)
I appreciate all the great responses, but I was wondering if I could use something better than an Intex brand filter(I'm tired of rinsing the paper filters 3x week, and then replacing them after that, this is the only way I get good suction at my skimmer, and good flow out my output into the pool). I see lots of sand, cartridge, DE filters for sale on craigslist. Also, can I use an IG style filter for my AG pool, or would I be better off with an AG type? Thanks!
You would want to get the very smallest AG pump/filter combo you can find, something that uses AT MOST a 3/4 hp up-rated pump, not full-rated. 1/2 hp would be better. I can't find company specs on it but Hayward makes a small sand filter pump combo called the VL40T32 series that's probably just the right size. It uses 42# of sand and a 1/2hp pump (probably up-rated) and flows about 30gpm. Check the web for it but it looks ideal. You may have to mess with fitting adapters, but that's not too hard.

If the new filter has 1.5" standard thread, they make an adapter especially for intex fittings, so you can use the hoses that you have.
