CYA still not testing after 8 days

Withh the BBB method, once you get things stabolized, how often and how much bleach are you adding. I know it depends on weather etc. But on a typical day (18000 gal pool)

The real answer is--however much it takes to hold your chlorine in the recommended ranges based on your CYA level--you can see the "best guess" chart in my sig to get an idea of what you're up against. In a pool your size, each 2.5 quart of 6% bleach you add will raise your chlorine by 2 ppm, so you can use that as a guide when figuring bleach.

Soooo. Does anyone know where my Cya disappeared to? I did get my kit today in the mail and tried the cyanuric test. It was perfectly clear. Black dot never disappeared. Hope I did it right.

It's hard to mess up. just be sure you shake for 30 sec, let it sit for 1-2 minutes, shake again, pour in view tube.

Do you still have the container of CYA you got at the pool store? Could you post what it says on the label? And post also how much you added and how you added it. You have a 18,000 gal pool, correct?
