Default algae and running your filter question.

I was out of town for almost three weeks. When I cam home, I noticed my pool was developing some algae. My friend was watching my house went swimming three days ago and said the pool was crystal clear.

So, I shocked it was some bleach. Today I got the water tested and all of my chemicals was in check.

My question: It has been extremely hot in Arkansas the past week with 98-100 degree weather. My filter was running about 7-8 hours. I increased it to run atleast 10 hours. I have been running it 24/7 till my water clears.

Was that the main reason algae was forming because my filter wasn't running long enough?

The main reason algae was forming is because your chlorine level was too low. Can you post a current set of water test results?
