Replacement cartridges for Pentair Clean and Clear 420

Hi all, my filter cartridges need replacing, this is their 10th season. Anyway, I can get 4 Unicell brand replacement cartridges for about $280. Authentic Pentair Cartridges will cost approximately $80 more. Are the Pentair cartridges worth the price premium, or should I just go with the less expensive Unicell cartridges? Thanks in advance.

There is a good chance that the Pentair carts are made by Unicel. The are one of the big OEM suppliers and make a qaality cart. Not sure if they are currently Pentair's supplier but none of the major manufactuers make their own carts. They have them made by other companies.

I personally have has good results with Unicel and Aladdin (Worldpool) carts. Pleatco also makes a good cart.

Thanks Evan, I appreciate the response. I went ahead and bought 4 Unicel cartridges online, at a very good price. I hope I get the same kind of longevity from the new cartridges as i did from the originals. I saw a product while perusing the internet, called a water wand. It's a hose attachment to make cleaning the cartridges easier. Anyone have any experience with this product?
