need help! pool company dug hole and...

Pool company sent out a guy to dig out for pool....we have a steep slope....one side of pool will be lower than ground level!!!!!...we were planning on doing a retaining wall...but not a 7 ft tall one...he is coming back in morning to finish...we want to cancel or get some advice...but now we have huge hole in yard with a 7 ft drop off...HELP

The wall on high side of pool will now be 8ft high, the pool is 54in. high...so they think no big deal put a 9ft retaining wall...so I would be looking at like 4-5 ft of wall from pool....we are so upset! the owner and installers are coming out tomorrow to look at it...this is not acceptable to us....I can see yrs. of problems never mind the ugly wall...anyone ever go through this?????????
