Have you shocked your pool to kill the algae first? If not, then you're wasting an awful lot of time and water by vacuuming and brushing--depending on your CYA level, get your pool up to shock level and keep it there until the algae is dead. That, along with the other stuff you're already doing, should take care of the bloom!
