    Default When to replace coping

We're getting ready to replace the vinyl liner in our inground pool. One question that I have, is when is it time to replace the coping? The pool has a pvc type coping and is about 18 years old. Although it would look better if replaced, it would add $10K to the cost since the concrete deck would have to be replaced (or so we are told). The concern is will the old coping hold the new liner? It is holding the old one just fine and the only reason for replacing the old liner is looks.

Unless looks are your motivating factor - I would suggest not replacing the coping -

If it's holding the liner now - I would imagine it will hold the new liner. Someone else may know better than I - but $10,000 is a lot of money for a shiny white coping.
