    Default Polaris Pump Problem

I was cleaning my pool today and noticed when I turned on my polaris pump the polaris cleaner ran for several minutes and then the pump clicked off by itself. After a few minutes, i was able to start it again and it did the same thing. Is there anything I can do to easily fix this problem?

I'm not the pump guy but it sounds like the pump's internal protection is kicking in due to too-high pressure from the cleaner. Have you cleaned the cleaner lately? Does the motor sound like it's straining before it clicks off?

Sorry for my delay in responding and thank you for your help. When you say the "cleaner" do you mean the polaris that cleans the pool? I did clean the filter between the pump and the hose to the polaris, but the pump still clicked off. I did not notice it straining when it clicked off. It was really hot outside and I suspect that may have something to do with it. I ran it all night last night, and it didn't click off. Will excessive heat cause it to shut off?
