Baracuda MX-8-No Side Suction

We recently purchased the Baracuda MX-9, which is a great product. Our problem is that our pool does not have a dedicated side suction so we connected it to the skimmer "port". By doing so we now have no skimmer function and have to wait for the debris on the pool surface to fall to the pool floor. Because there is no skimmer action debris is clinging to the MX-8 hose ribs. Is there an adapter that can be connected to the MX-8 that will still give us skimmer action? Please advise. Thank you.

Not that I know of, although if there was, you might not have enough suction to operate the Baracuda. That is the same thing that happens when I run my vacuum, but I don't keep it hooked up all the time.
