Perhaps a dumb question but...

My skimmers have a basket with slots that drop into the "skimmer well" and another solid inner piece that floats up and down inside it. When using a skimmer sock, after you install it inside the larger basket will the other floating piece still float up and down freely? I'm not sure if my baskets are a common design or not.
