My Jandy pump hums then trips circuit breaker. Is there a simple trouble shooting process?

There are several steps, that can help you check the motor and pump out, BUT . . . unless you are able to repair a pump, replace a capacitor, or replace a pump motor yourself, it doesn't really matter.

If you are going to have someone else do the work, you might was well let them do the diagnostics.

At a minimum, you need to understand and be able to use a voltmeter -- if you don't already have one, this may not be the time to start.
