Laguna Pool Filters? Still in business????? Parts??

I have a pool filter that a neighbor had given me about 6 years ago. I have been using it and have replaced the pump once with a Hayward, which I hard plumbed into the system. A couple of years back my wife tried to backwash without shutting the pump down and burned the multivalve gasket inside. I got by with flipping the gasket burned side down for a year, but now everytime I backwash I need to disassemble the valve and re-seat the gasket. In the past searches for this filter have come up empty, but I have seen several come up this time with parts, but none for just the gasket. Is this company still in busisness and do they have a website and/or can I make my own gasket out of 1/4" rubber that I could find somewhere??? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
