Sounds like a bad start capacitor. It is either in the back of the motor or in the hump on the side of the motor.

OK I figured it out. AO Smith BN24 motor does not have a capacitor, so there this goes. I talked to the technical support and they suggested a bad contact on the starter switch. I cleaned it , bend the contacts closer together and it started to work fine!!!
