    I don't know what's right, but you could install a suction-side cleaner as an option. It is like a roving main drain....

    The one who is right depends on what was discussed and promissed regarding the repair. I have a main drain which I never use. I prefer to run the skimmer at 100% since my pool is not covered. I also have a suction side clean to get the bottom clean - which also helps circulate the deep water.
