Default Should I be concerned about Sodium level

I'm using clorox bleach in my pool and was wondering if I should be concerned with the sodium level rising over time? Does the sodium cause any corrosion of pool equipment or will it cause the the water to become cloudy? Thanks. I have been using bleach for a year now.

    Hi Bassinbob,

You don't need to worry about the sodium level rising from bleach use. Many people add salt to their pools just because they like the "feel" of the water, and the amount they add is hundreds of times greater than what you'll ever get with using bleach. It will not cause the water to become cloudy. In fact, as far as chlorine sources go, bleach is probably the most efficient...it adds chlorine which you need, minute amounts of salt which is actually good, and nothing else--no calcium, no CYA, no acid, etc to have to compensate for. I use bleach in my pool, too.
