Solar cover reel

What is the best way to attach a solar cover to a reel? When we do ours it never seems to roll up right.

I would say making sure that the straps attached to the cover are all of equal length and the reel perpendicular to the center line of the pool. This will get equal pull on all the straps or at least as close as possible.
