Vacuum Hose Size

Hello,

I am in need of new vacuum hose for my above ground pool as the cuffs on the end are starting to split. I noticed in one of the catalogs I receive it indicaties that 1 1/2" is for in ground and 1 1/4" for above ground. Looking at my current hose it looks to be 1 1/2" is there benefit to using 1 1/4" for above ground?

Related question, I notice that replacement cuff ends are also sold. Are these a good fix for a hose that is in otherwise good shape or is it best to buy a whole new hose?

If the cuffs are the problem, replace the cuffs. Cuffs for 1.5" hose are available with 1.25" and 1.5" ends. My Local Leslie's carries 'em for a fair price.
