    Default Intellichlor vs Auto Pilot

I will be using Pentair equipment on the pool. I hear good things about the Auto Pilot, however. As you know, if I buy pump, filter, SWCG all from Pentair I get the 3 yr warranty. Is this a good enough reason to go ahead and get the Pentair SWCG even if the Auto Pilot is a better unit?

IMHO, no. The intellechlor units have historically had problems. Supposedly they are fixed now but the track record for the unit has not been that great. On the other hand the PoolPilot is a dependable unit that works well. I wold recommend the PoolPilot Digital.

I personally didnt like the look of the Intellichlor design....didnt like having the control "panel" right on the cell exposed to sunlight, rain, etc.

At least with the Pool Pilot the casing prevents direct light on some of the components. And there are cooling fans built in.

I went with the Pool Pilot Digital myself, but Im long past my ability to get a longer warranty by having all of the same brand equipment.
