    I like muriatic because it leaves no residue. With dry acid, you'll build up sulphates in the pool over time. Now I don't know how serious that is but it's easier for me to use muriatic. The only byproducts are water and salt.

    Safety and ease of use vs. cost and sulfate buildup.

    I guess for occasional use, Dry Acid is probably better (I prefer it).

    But if I had a curing concrete pool, or an SWG constantly pushing pH up, I think I'd be using Muriatic Acid instead.
