Is there a forum guide to installation of the Hayward

I don't think so but you can usually figure out where is o-ring goes by matching it up with the old one and when removing the seal pay attention to the direction when you remove the old seal. But you can also look at the pump parts diagram on Hayward's web site such as this one:
