    Not sure about the 280, but the 360 and 380 have a large white plastic nut that, once you push the hose onto the unit, screws on to keep it in place. I would assume the 280 should have this, too...

    thanks, does the hose connect directly to the cleaner or is there a swivel that connects the hose to the unit and then the feed hose nut goes around the feed hose?

    On the units that I've had, the hose plugs into the top of the unit and then the screw-on nut fastens it. The swivel is higher up the hose...
