    Default Black Algea

I have the beginning of a Black Algae (although it really looks green) problem. It grows in a couple rough areas on the steps and around the skimmer.

I've tried scrubbing on it with a chlorine puck but that never quite gets rid of it.

I was planning to drain the pool and acid wash the plaster and bleach the trouble spots but did not get around to it before the swim season started this year but will do it in the fall.

Anything I can use to control it during the summer ?

What is the proper process to kill it when I do drain the pool?

Sorry you didn't get any replies. Is your problem any better? What have you done so far? Can you post a complete set of current water testing results taken with a drops-based kit and post them. Tell us what kind of kit you are using.
