Default Hayward 1.5 HP pump tripping breaker

Not to hijack this thread but I have a Hayward 1.5 HP pump that tripped a breaker the other day. It continued to trip the breaker until after kicking the pump. I have only had this pump for approx 10 months and wondering what caused the breaker to trip and why I would have to manually hit the pump to get it started. It has been fine for a few days since.

Smacking the motor to get it to start is exactly what happens with dirty centrifugal switch contacts. The jolt causes thm to make contact. May run OK for a long time, then maybe not.

I moved your post to its own thread; it gets very confusing, when people start giving answers to two DIFFERENT problems, in the same thread.
