    Default Cartrige Filter cream

I switched to a cartrige filter this year and it works great but, I have to clean it once a week and when i flush the cartrige out, the water is a cream color, what would cause this condition?

Brown slimey 'cream' = people 'goo' & lotion
Tan heavy 'cream' = calcium carbonate from using cal hypo as a sanitizer or shock.

But . . . why does it matter?

Probably only when you quit using your pool. The filter is doing what it's supposed to do: getting the goo out of the water.

You have a choice: in the pool, or on the filter. Generally, it's considered better for it to be on the filter!

If you want to list the chemicals you're using, by EXACT name and brand, we might be able to suggest alternatives that wouldn't add as much 'stuff' to your filter.
