Default Alkalinity stuck at 0...after 50 lbs. Alkalinity Increaser

The alkalinity is stuck at 0. After putting in 25 lbs. of Alkalinity increaser it did not raise. Another 25 lbs. of Alkalinity increaser and still it's registering at 0. What could be causing the Alkalinity to lock up like this? This is only a 9000 gallon pool!

I'm afraid Watermom is right; something is SERIOUSLY wrong either with what you are adding, or with the way you are testing.

Check the packages: if they say "sodium bicarbonate" or "sodium acid carbonate" or "sodium hydrogen carbonate" as the ingredient AND the material inside was a fine gritty white fast dissolving material . . . you added the right stuff.

    If so, toss your kit!

+ Here are links to the kits we recommend:
HTH 6-Way Test Kit @ Walmart
    Taylor K2006A (3/4 oz bottles) @ Amazon
    Taylor K2006C (2 oz bottles) @ Amazon
