Return eyeball has a funnel

I keep getting a funnel near the return eyeball. I makes a strange noise and then there are a lot of what looks like bubbles My pool is 24' ag with de filter

By funnel, I assume you mean a whirlpool in the water?

You can probably stop that by loosening the eyeball nut a bit, and re-directing the eyeball. You'll probably want to turn the pump off first.
