Did a fast search in the forum and did not see anything about using PEX. From what I read, the pipe diameter and 90 deg elbows are a main contributor to pool pump in-efficiency (all things equal).

Wouldn't you reduce back pressure using a larger diameter PEX line run to and from your pump station to the pool?
No harsh bends !
