    Default Pool and Spa Lights

I recently purchase a home with a pool and the underwater lights didn't work. I removed both housings for inspection and found both to be filled with dirty moldy water. Is it usually possible to clean and salvage the housings and just purchase new bulbs and gaskets? or does it do permanent damage to the housing being exposed to water for long periods?

As long as the housing its-self wasn't damaged in such a way to cause it to leak again, you might be able to repair it with bulbs and a gasket. I bought a home with a light in a state similar to yours and i fought with repairs and leaks in the light for about a year before I broke down and bought a new light.
