Pool Filter Beyond Cleaning?

I have a pool which has been sitting with algae in FL heat for about 2 months. I took the filter out which is a dark green and hosed it down best I could. I still notice dark sections down the middle of the bands. The round support straps are in good condition. None of them are broken.

Is this in need of replacement or is there a suggestion for a good cleaner?

I found this product which seems good. I was thinking of diluting it in a large bin big enough to lay the filter flat and cover it with the solution over night. Is this ok for what I need?
