Something to think about if you live in a black land area like me. I live in east Texas and in the summer we get big cracks in the soil. I had a friend that had an above ground pool with a 2 inch sand base. In the summer when the ground got dry and large cracks appeared, the sand sifted down the cracks and he had big gaps or valleys in his liner where the sand underneath disappeared. I would suggest laying down some heavy landscape fabric or plastic or both before putting down your sand. Just something to think about. I never would have thought of it.
