    Default Sand Filter Pressure Question

When I purchased my new home, it came with an 18' above ground pool with a Jacuzzi (I think) sand filter. The pool was winterized when I bought the house, the pump was stored in a shed.
I hooked up the pump, and opened and filled the pool. The water is crystal clear!
The filter has a gauge on it which reads 10 psi even when the pump is off. Is this normal or should it read zero?
The pressure goes to 22 psi when the pump is running in 'filter' mode. I am thinking the gauge is just shot.
    Thanks!

Sure sounds like it. Pretty cheap to replace at the pool store. Use some teflon tape when you screw the new one in.

The guage should be resting on the pin when the pump is off. Also, when you shut the pump down, it should shoot right to zero, not fade. You definately need a new guage.
