We've had this sort of question many times over the years. Currently none of my trusted posters have that sort of specific AG pool knowledge -- and I don't, either. (My personal experience is mostly with very large commercial pools.)

I can tell you that, in the cases where we've heard back from the posters, things haven't gone well.

Think of if this way: if you don't currently have the knowledge to disassemble the pool, it is (unfortunately) rather unlikely you'll be able to reassemble it successfully. At the least, liners rarely survive the move.

I'm sure there have been exceptions who HAVE successfully disassembled, moved and reassembled an AG pool; I sincerely hope you become one of those.

Ben is, of course, right. Since you're warned, if you decide to proceed, I'll add that when you put it up you have to build it on level - measured level - NOT looks level undisturbed soil.

Thanks Dave. The 'looks-level' vs. 'is-level' problem seems to trip up a lot of people.

JGowens, if you decide NOT to take the offer, I'd encourage you to look at an Intex Ultra 18' or larger. You can get them for under $1,000, you can install it yourself, and they seem to last 3 - 6 years. That's a much easier and cheaper way to find out if your family will really enjoy a pool. And, Intex Ultra pools *can* be taken down and moved, fairly easily.

(That's the Ultra pole, with the steel tubing frame, and NOT the Easy Set doughnut pools, which seem to fail pretty quickly.)

Been there, done that. Regarding disassembling & moving an existing pool. It was a disaster waiting to happen.
