    Default pH adjusting

To adjust the pH levels using muriatic acid makes me a little nervous. Are there any negatives to using Walmart's HTH pH Plus:
    •Raises pH levels
    •For use with swimming pools
    •5-lb canister

    or

    HTH pH Minus:
    •Lowers pH levels
    •For use with swimming pools
    •7-lb canister

"pH plus" is usually sodium bisulfate -- or half-reduced sulfuric acid. It's also sometimes named "sodium hydrogen sulfate" (but NOT: sodium hydrosulfite, which is different!)

In a vinyl pool, the only down side to this product is increased cost. In a concrete pool, sulfate build-up can damage concrete.

So to raise the pH level borax would be a better choice?

Yes, to raise pH, use 20 Mule Team Borax (laundry aisle at Walmart).

Sometimes I can gather too much information and confuse myself. I just printed The BBB Method and I think I'll be OK. Thank you.
