    Default Backwash

    Hi all,

Newbie here and trying to figure out how to backwash a DE filter that has no handle. We bought a home that came with a:

    Proline Waterway DE II

I think the model is WW 520-5020N. Anyways there is no handle like on most DE filters to backwash the system. I was wondering if you do not need to do that with all DE systems. Or do I need to open the system and hose it down every 30 days or so? The PSI has stayed around 11-12PSI.

If I still need to backwash the filter do I need to get some piping and create my own system to allow for this? Safe to ignore the backwash? Just wait till I hit 15 PSI and just open the system and clean it? Ideas? Thoughts?

    Thank you

I don't have a DE filter with no backwash valve but my brother does. He bumps it. I'm not sure what this means, and perhaps your filter is different. Here is a link to the owner's manual for your filter. Hope it helps.
