That depends on the level of CYA (cyanuric acid) because that stabalizes the chlorine but also starts to 'inhibit' its power. As pointed out by anohter member you should be safe to go to 15ppm in a vinyl-lined pool with normal CYA levels of 30-50.

Thanks for the replies. My main concern was that Im using trichlor tabs and know they will also raise my CYA level causing me to need higher doses of bleach. Dont want to dump a bunch in and come back to a bleached out liner or worse.

You should be fine because as the CYA increases it is protecting the chlorine more so that higher dosage is equivalent to a normal dosage with normal levels of CYA. You may want to use trichlor until you hit 30-50 on your CYA and then just add bleach as needed.
