    Default Old Concrete Pool

Buying a house with old (25 year old concrete pool) realtor pool guy says can't be saved. Must be ripped out and entire new pool put in. Any way to save it?

    Seriously?

There is no way to answer that, when we haven't even seen the pool. Your options are either to fix it yourself -- in which case, you should know whether you can do it -- or hire it done. If you're planning to hire it done, call some guys, pay them a service call, and ask them to 'ball-park' a quote on a new pool and on a rehab.

Pool construction prices in S. Florida tend to be much lower than in other parts of the country. I'm not sure about Jacksonville, though.

Thank you for your response. I understand that it's almost impossible to assess without looking at pool. I guess I just wanted to know that if it was even a possibility to restore a concrete pool. Having a background in construction. But NO pool expertise, I thought it would take very serious issues for anything concrete to be beyond repair
But I realize pools can be a different beast

If you've got a construction background, look for structural cracks in the pool, and for plumbing problems. Both of those can be very expensive to repair.
