Doesn't look like the t handle on the slide valve I have. But thanks for your reply. I monkeyed around with it long enough to figure out there is a little pin, about one inch long that fits through the handle and the top of the slide valve. It is actually the handle that is turned and pulled up to start the backwash on a DE filter.
Anyway, got the handle replaced. thanks again.
