Default BBB user and vacation time

What is the suggestion for a BBB user who goes on vacation for 10 days? Shall I shock the pool before vacation and leave the filter running 12 hrs per day? Or should I go out and buy one of those floating chlorinators and put some pucks in there? I have a new pool so I am still getting use to how much bleach to use for maintenance. Just getting prepared for when I go away in July. Also, by that time I should be able to use my SWG, will that do the job by itself? or should I still need to be adding bleach?

    Thanks

    John,
Prior to going away it would not hurt to bring your Cl up to shock levels. The SWG, once adjusted properly, should maintain a constant level 2-4ppm anyway but the shock would protect in case of a storm, junk in pool, etc. If the SWG is not up and running and/or your CYA levels are low you could alternatively use a floater with some stabalized (dichlor/trichlor) tabs. I am sure more detailed info will follow. Thanks

The swg should do the job just fine. It would be a good idea to add muriatic acid to the pool before you leave to bring the ph down.
