    We really need some numbers taken with a drops-based kit. Refer back to the previous post I wrote for some suggestions about kits.

    You need to bring your pH up. If it is reading 6.8, it could be much lower than that since that is the lowest reading that the scale will show. Any reading below 7.0 is acidic and can damage your pool. Continue adding Borax and get that pH above 7.0 ASAP.

    If you have added conditioner, then you have some CYA in the pool. I don't know what ingredient is in Leslie's pool shock. It could be cal-hypo or it could be Dichlor which also adds CYA.

    Keep adding bleach, get the pH up, get a kit. And, then we'll go from there.
