I didn't do a CYA test. Is it really that important? The pool is not freshly filled. It was here when we purchased the house.

Yes, knowing your CYA is one of the 3 most important numbers along with chlorine and pH. Go ahead and run that test and report your number. We need to know that to know what your chlorine levels need to be. More about the chlorine/CYA connection here: http://pool9.net/cl-cya/
If CYA is stabilizer, then the number is 0. I know that without running a test. I don't have any and won't be able to get any until Wed. Working 12 hour shifts kind of puts a damper on getting anything done on work days.

There may be some in there from last year. Probably a good idea to go ahead and run the test.
New numbers are in!
Ch: 5.8
pH: 7.2
ALK: 70
CYA: 60
Going to go buy some stabilizer.

You don't need more stabilizer. A reading of 60ppm is plenty.
CoolI guess all my number are good. Would explain why my pool is nice and clear. You all have been very helpful
