Yes! They can be a lifesaver! (Well, almost. Certainly a 'hand' saver, in terms of blisters avoided!)

But . . . get American made products ONLY. I was a licensed master plumber for 30 years . . . and I *still* learned the hard way that you absolutely do NOT want to put Chinese made plumbing products under ground!. That junk I used was Watts brand (an old US brand), but Chinese made. Had to go back into that hole (mud pit!) on my father's water line twice.

Also, watch your pressure ratings. On gizmos like those, if they say 50 psi max . . . they MEAN it.
